Problem

Traphouse Company has fought to establish itself as a household brand for concentrates and vape products in Michigan’s competitive cannabis market.  As their product line and distribution expanded, they were seeing a trend of over 4% of their 510 thread cartridges leaking and defective resulting in product waste. 

At 100,000 cartridges per month, this results in over 4,000 cartridges including hardware, labor, flavor, oil of lost opportunity.

They knew a change could help their brand continue growing their market share while  increasing profitability and reputation.  

Action

Traphouse consulted with Honeycomb who works directly with the overseas manufacturer.  Our team manages a remote, 15 step Quality Control (QC) inspection process prior to shipment with our manufacturer based in Shenzhen.

Result

Traphouse now receives less than 1% faulty hardware.  The lower defective rate while establishing their products as quality and consistent.  In addition, they leveraged our Hive Strategic Sourcing model and decreased the cost of their hardware and packaging by over 20%.  Today, Traphouse has been able to scale their brand to a top 10 brand in Michigan for both vape and concentrate categories.  Partnering with Honeycomb means our members get to leverage the collective volume purchase of multiple established cannabis brands.
